Q: Uploading photos to iCloud

i am using iCloud to store my entire photo library.  This means I must upload everything which is happening, in the background.  But it is taking an eternity to achieve.  I have in excess of 136,000 photos.  At my reconning, it will take in exces of nine months if I leave my computer on, running and connected to the Internet to achieve this.  It means that the extra space I have purchased to hold my photos will be empty for the bulk of the first year - and I have no confidence that at the end of the year all y photos will be uploaded. 

Question:  is there any other means of uploading my photos that could be achieved within a reasonable time frame?

    You can log onto iCloud.com and upload there - It was been reported that it is faster - I have not tested

     

    And 136,000 is a whole lot of photos - I uploaded 7000+ and it  took ten days - I have pretty much decided not to do my main 80,000 library due to time and cost
