Aug 16, 2015 10:06 AM in response to Sesfredby Drew Reece,You have to rip it into iTunes on a Mac or PC then sync that to your phone. Use the computer that you used to setup your device if you did so.
You can also use iTunes Match or Apple Music but you still need to import the CD on a computer that is connected to your Apple ID.

Aug 16, 2015 10:38 AM in response to Sesfredby elcpu,Fred, I have two thoughts. Do you have iTunes Match or Apple Music? I have read of some users having difficulties syncing their own music to phones with those service enabled, Apple Music in particular. I am not saying that it cannot be done of course, just that I have read about issues on this forum. If you don't have those services, Drew's recommendations should/will work. No doubt you ripped your CDs in an Apple acceptable format (mp3 or aac), right?
The following guides may help, I hope.... or just try searching the forum for the issues I read about...

Aug 16, 2015 10:44 AM in response to Sesfredby Drew Reece,How far have you got? You can see the songs in your iTunes Library & play them?
Do you manually sync via a cable or via wifi with iTunes & your device?
Are you relying on iCloud library to get the songs to your device? If so what is the matched status of these songs?
