magsafe2 break

My Magsafe 2 charger break (rupture) near the magnetic plug, checking in the internet this problem calls "break by tension". My Mac is out time of warranty, I would like know if Apple Support fix it or I will need buy a other? (PS: I bought it less than 2 years ago)

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

There usually is a limited warranty on the power adapter, so that time span

likely has passed given you stated two years has gone by...


A new replacement would be advised. I'd seen where some persons had a

electronics expert repair the wire by the plug; some companies had offered

repaired Magsafe adapters with that plug re-attached, online. OWC had a

few listed in their clearance page at macsales, that inventory changes though.


OWC also offers fair price original-equipment magsafe2/retina power adapters, new.

The Apple Store online should be able to offer a replacement adapter, though I've

not researched a Store page URL; as the retina 13-inch MB/Pro is still in production.
