My apple watch says it's connected but It's not really connected

Hi guys,

This issue is super weird.

My apple watch is connected to the iPhone (according to the bluetooth screen on my iPhone, and as well to the first screen of the setting [drag up] on my watch).

BUT:

1. I Don't recieve notifications on my watch.

2. iMessages not updated since last night on my watch.

3. I can't connect to the music library. Message is -

"Can't Connect. Apple watch can't connect to your iPhone Music Library. Press firmly on the display to choose another music source."

4. Don't recieve Phone Calls.

5. Can't make calls. (Although I can reach my contacts).

As long as I know, I didn't change anything on my watch or on my iPhone since this thing happened.

I tried turn the watch and the iPhone off and on. Tried to turn off bluetooth on iPhone.

Tried to set the Wrist Detection off (read it somewhere). Nothing helps.

Obviously - no silent, Do not disturb, airplane mode or something is turned on. although it has nothing to do with this type of weird behaviour.

(Just trying to prevent some obvious comments here).

This is very annoying,

I read that unpairing causes some problems, so I haven't tried it yet.

Suggestions ?

Thanks !!!

Hi

As you have already tried restarting both devices, next try unpairing and re-pairing your iPhone and Apple Watch.

Your Apple Watch iPhone app takes backups of your watch automatically. Choose to restore your Apple Watch from this backup when offered the option by the app during the set up process. This will retain most of your watch's data and settings, except for: calibration data (from Workout and Activity apps), synced playlists, cards used for Apple Pay on your watch, watch passcode.

So I did unpair my watch.

When I wanted to pair it again, I couldn't do it without reseting the watch.

After I reset the watch and approve that all data will be erased, it took like 5-10 mins until it finished reseting and I could pair it again.

Then I Chose in the iphone watch app to pair it like I did on the first time and I chose a restore from backup (not to set as a new watch).

This took me another 10 mins.

And now the watch works fine.

Very disappointing procedure and I can't figure out why it happened.

(The only thing I can think of is that I reset my iPhone settings a day before and updated my iOS. but the watch worked fine for a day).
