Having problems with the new 7.1.8 security download, it will not install after downloading

Have been trying to install the downloaded software security update 7.1.8 but it says that safari may be corrupt. We are running the software 7.1.7 at the moment. Is there a safari 7.1.8 operating system anywhere, i cannot find it. Any advice?

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

If the above doesn't work, see if you can install it in the Safe Mode.
