Aug 21, 2015 4:33 AM in response to EZ Jimby judger,FYI: Kodak does NOT sell digital cameras any more and has not since 2012 and as far as I can tell has no live support resource. Don't you remember the sinking Kodak stories - I believe that they stopped making film somewhere around then too.
As suggested by several here, I have gone and found some stored Kodak support info on importing pictures. For the Mac OS, one of the methods that they recommend using is iPhoto. Here is the exact Kodak support statement (I have added emphasis for using a USB cable and the iPhoto app):
For a computer with MAC OS:
- Make sure the power to your camera is off.
- Do one of the following:
- Connect your camera to the computer using the USB cable that came with your camera, then turn on the power to your camera.
- Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into a memory card reader (either built in to the computer or externally connected to the computer).
- Open iPhoto from the dock or the Applications folder.
- Enter the "Roll Name" and "Description" for the pictures.
- Click Import.
I also have an iPhoto folder dated 2008 when I purchased this iMac. I have never used this app and apparently never had it updated.
- When I try to access the iPhoto app I get 'In order to open “iPhoto.app”, you need to update to the latest version.'
- When I "Search App Store" I get: "Item Not Available"
- Per some recent iMac support advice, I moved my old iPhoto to Trash and rebooted
- Then I logged into the App Store and clicked the "Purchased" button. iPhoto does NOT come up as one of my purchased items. So I don't know how I can update it with a 9.x version like the referenced support thread suggests
- SO??? DO I have an updatable iPhone or not? Can't test to see if iPhoto works or not without a workable version
Again, I appreciate all of your support and thank you for sticking with me. Wading through what should work and what actually does work is not going well for me.

The KODAK EASYSHARE Software - MACINTOSH Operating Systems publication contradicts your thought.
judger wrote: ... Sounds like I am stuck with my old Windows XP Parallels virtual machine until I replace the camera, right?
It would seem that the answer to your question is "yes", but ONLY if you want to use the KODAK software and the only KODAK software you have is the old Windows version.
Both the KODAK EASYSHARE Software - MACINTOSH Operating Systems and the KODAK EASYSHARE Software - WINDOWS Operating Systems publications state in part:
KODAK EASYSHARE Software is no longer available as a download. We regret any inconvenience to you.
You can continue using EASYSHARE Software that is already installed on your computer. If you need support for the software, see Support for EASYSHARE Software. Both documents then also offer suggestions on how to download, organize, and transfer your "pictures" without the Kodak software. (This is the path we had been troubleshooting here while attempting to help you use Mac software with your Kodak image files.)
judger wrote: EZ Jim, I suspect from Google searches I get a strong impression that the Import error (-9912) is really an OS X 10.10.3 problem that has NOT been fixed....
I, too, researched the -9912 error code, and it clearly identifies an import problem. However, it does not identify the cause of the problem. The failure of the error code to identify a specific cause prevents us from knowing what to fix. There are many possibilites.
In addition to the possible 10.10.3 problem you posit, I think it more likely that one (in no particular order) of the following root causes might more likely;
• your USB cable might be faulty
• your camera may need repair or replacement
• you may not be using correct Mac workflows or taking advantage of all Mac capabilities referenced in my earlier responses.
• there may be something wrong with your Mac's USB port
There are simple, if sometimes time-consuming, ways of testing for each of these possibilities. You may wish to explore at least some of them on your own if you ever decide to try again to use the Mac method instead of the Windows app you apparently can make work at present time.
Even if we can never determine the true underlying causes, workarounds are available. However, based on your latest responses, we will not explore possible workarounds that completely avoid finding and correcting the problem.

Thank you again for your efforts and support, EZ Jim. :-))))
You're welcome.
FYI, I have added this last post only as possibly useful information for other readers who may have found your thread while searching for their own solutions.
Thanks for letting us know your decision. If you ever find an useable alternative, please post it back here to share with other users.
