I understand that you are unable to play some songs in your iTunes library after the update. Most likely, these song are not in a location where iTunes can read them. I would take a look at the article below as it has some helpful information on how to correct this issue.
If you see an exclamation point next to content in iTunes
If you are still unable to locate the missing media and these were purchases from the iTunes Store, you have the option to delete the problematic media and download it again via the steps in the article below.
