MAC BOOK PRO failed during reformat

I decided to reformat my mac last night, after the hard drive had been erased it went to the disk utility screen I clicked on install OS X then an error msg came up and said it couldnt do it, then u stupidly restarted my mac and now it won't do anything, the grey screen comes up with a empty folder flashing on my screen.

Please can anyone help me get my mac up and running again.I need my mac for everything,

Use the original Snow Leopard installation disk tha came with the MBP and start up the MBP as if you were going to install the OSX.


After the language selection, the display should have a menu bar on top.


Click on UTILITIES.


From the drop down menu, select Disk Utility.


Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repair.


If the disk cannot be repaired, it will have to be replaced.
