Finder Tags - color

Just updated system software to 10.10.5 and found the color tags in finder are now just small dots which are quite useless.

The Mac is suppose to be user friendly, so why was this feature changed, it worked well in quickly identifying and grouping files visually.

I don't think Steven Jobs would have allowed the change just for the sake of change.

Now we need to waste time trying to figure a work-around?

Because files can have multiple tags, so instead of choosing just one color, it puts all the dots with the file.

There are Finder plugins that can restore the old behavior. Are are 2 you could look at:

Thanks Bob,

I'll give your suggestions a try. I did do the multiple dots but it doesn't do it for me.

I use the colors to identify clients quickly, all projects have a number and a client code, but when quickly scanning for a past project, color helps to separate things clients. Of course, grouping by color can speed things up somewhat as well.
