MAC OS X 10.7.5 cannot connect to Windows 7 computer

I have OS X 10.7.5 and am trying to connect to a Windows 7 server. I see the server in Finder but when I try to connect I get an immediate message that says, "There was a problem connecting to the server <server name>. Check the server name or IP address, and then try again. If you continue to have problems, contact your system administrator."

I have changed my workgroup to make sure that I am in the same workgroup as the other computers. Do I need to do anything else?

I am able to connect to Windows XP servers.

Is this a known issue in 10.7.5?
