App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Aug 17, 2015 3:32 PM in response to Jsistby YakovM,Try to Google the app you need in Safari and click the link. App Store will open saying something like "iOS on your device doesn't support the latest version of the app, but you can download the last compatible version."

Aug 17, 2015 3:32 PM in response to Jsistby Niel,Unless these instructions work for you, nowhere. If you haven't previously downloaded a given application with your Apple ID, go to a computer or compatible iOS device and do so first.
