From what I gather, podcasts and audiobooks are missing from iTunes on your PC and it's preventing you from syncing your iPod because you don't want to sync the device with a new or empty iTunes library. Try using the article below as a guide for locating and recovering the missing media on your PC.

Aug 19, 2015 11:31 AM in response to Jason Lby Heroine26,I tried to unhide my purchases, it said I have no hidden purchases (for the audiobooks), so I guess I just lost a couple hundred bucks, as long as I don't sync my iPod, anyway..I can still listen to them on there.
Podcasts are free so they're not puchases. I re-subscribed to one of them and that's the only one that's showing up, so I will have to go through my iPod and find them all, search for them on iTunes, resubscribe to all of them, and hope they don't get deleted again in the future. But now it doesn't tell me which ones I've already listened to since that information got deleted.
I also tried to find my files in my computer but podcasts and audiobooks never get saved to your computer, only your music does. All my music is fine, it's just audiobooks and podcasts that are gone.
I know you can transfer stuff from your iPod to your computer but I have had that fail before, even though I have it checked not to automatically sync, it does anyway, and I can't act quick enough to stop it, so it ends up deleting everything forever. I've had this happen before and I'm not going to attempt it again even though it's supposed to work, in theory.
