To register your MacBook Air with your Apple ID you only have to log in with your Apple ID in the Support Profile website -> https://supportprofile.apple.com

After logging in, press "Add Products", type your MacBook's serial number and follow the steps. It will tell you whether your Mac is in warranty and you can get AppleCare.
