My PC is an ADVENT Desktop running Windows

You cannot since iBooks can only be read using the iBook app.  The app only works on iOS devices and Macs with Mac OS X 10.9 and above, not on Windows PCs.

The majority of ibooks can only be read in the iBooks apps on iOS devices and Mac computers, it's generally only free ibooks and those from publishers who don't include digital rights management on their books (e.g. O'Reilly) that can be read on PCs (e.g. in Calibre) - a book's requirements should be listed on its description page in the store.

If you want to be able to read ebooks on your computer then you may want to use a different store for your ebook purchases e.g. Amazon/Kindle, Kobo and Nook have apps for PCs and iOS devices.
