Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid.

When using auto update to update from iTunes 12.2.1 to iTunes 12.2.2, I am getting the error as in the picture below

I tried as in the picture to download manually using the apple software update but I am getting this

Also tried from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and still getting the same error message "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid."

I am using a Toshiba laptop and I just recently upgraded from windows 7 home to windows 10 home

Any suggestions ??

The error has no connection with iTunes registry, I think it is an Windows Installer, Windows Installer registry or hardware issue.

I've tried it on three differrent clean installations of Windows on the same hardware, with no Apple software installed before, and it went awry.

I have allways installed every new itunes version and ever falled back to an older one except for the sake of Jailbreacking, I had this issue since I changed my tired GeForce 8800GTS with the Radeon HD 5450 graphics cards last month, so I encourage everyone to post his/her hardware or at least graphics card and chipset since I have suspicions about AMD's hardware or software (their CCC).

Right, I think I'm beginning to make some sense of this. Unpacking the itunes6464.msi reveals a bunch of folders with four digit names. These correspond to Microsoft LocaleIDs. 1025 would be Arabic - Saudi Arabia, which isn't a supported language of the installer. Which language the installer should be trying to use is not immediately clear, but this page (assuming it isn't totally out of date) shows it should be:

  1. Requested language
  2. User's language
    1. GetUserDefaultUILanguage()
    2. GetUserDefaultLangID()
  3. System's language (GetSystemDefaultLangID())
  4. English

Changing your language and regional settings to something other than Arabic & Saudi Arabia should force msiexec to try to install itunes6464.msi using a different set of locale transforms, which should work. Judging by the contents of the .msi file supported languages are:

Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese

So for anyone one with this issue what are your current language and region settings?

Does setting them to something else allow you to install itunes6464.msi successfully?
