iPhone 5 not recognised on iTunes - nothing works

Hello,

Today while I was using my iPhone 5 it just turned off. The battery was about 75% full. When the phone is charging, there is only a white screen with an Apple logo on it. I hold down the Home button for 15 seconds and then it says to connect the phone to iTunes.

When I connect the phone to my MBP, nothing happens (the screen is black) and the computer doesn't recognises the phone. I tried holding Home button and Home + Sleep buttons but nothing happens in either combination.

Do you have any idea how to fix the phone, it is really urgent as this is my business phone and I am on a remote island in the moment. Won't be able to go to Apple Store before Saturday.

Thank you in advance!

iPhone 5, iOS 8.3, 64GB

To narrow down the issue, try different equipment:

If you still see the error message, check for hardware issues.

I know you have already tried most of the recommended procedures to no avail. Try this one as perhaps another shot, a different way to approach the issue. Make sure you follow the steps precisely. I hope it works but if it does not, your best bet at this point might be to contact an Apple Store.

Connect the charging cable to a USB port on your PC.

Open iTunes.

Turn off your device if on.

Press and hold the power button on your device and don’t let go.

Connect the cable to the iPhone while keeping the power button pressed down.

Wait until the PC detects the device and wait for it to restore.

Good luck,
