Q: find my iphone will not update after upgrade to OS 7.1

I finally upgraded my iPhone4 to OS 7.1.2.  Find my iPhone says I must upgrade, but it will not allow it since I'm not on OS 8, which can't be installed on my phone.  I need that app to work.  Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Gary, 

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

     

    From what I gather, you are running into an issue installing the latest compatible version of the Find My iPhone app on your iPhone 4. Try downloading Find My iPhone from the Purchased screen on your iOS device, as described in the article below.

    Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support

    To download an earlier version of an app, follow these steps:

    1. Open the App Store or Mac App Store.
    2. Go to the Purchased screen on your iOS device or the Purchases tab on your Mac.
    3. Find the app and choose Download. You'll see a message telling you if a compatible version is available. Tap Confirm to install this version.
