Q: BootCamp 6 DESTROYED Windows 10 - TWICE

Resetting again after a reset to see what BC6 would do to a vanilla install.  Part way through the installation (2nd time now), the screen goes black, then it just restarts.   No errors - no BSOD - just fail. Becoming extremely costly from a time perspective...

It was miserable to get this installed because of weird partition errors where the installation did not like the type of partition when trying an auto install using BootCamp utility from Mavericks.

Graphics performance with the old 5.1 drivers was unacceptable, making my high-end iMac essentially a big iPad... (surf web, look at pictures, can't play games..).

I'm stunned that I don't see anyone else suffering the same issue.

Don't know about you, but I found the answer was to boot into safe mode and rollback the driver update for my graphics card (Radeon R9 M295X). Shame about the driver update though.

There is a set of logs in W10, which will give you details of the setup process and any associated errors. You can see these logs from the OS X side. Look for setup*.log files.

Don't use the Bootcamp 6 drivers in Windows with OS X Maverick's Bootcamp. Use the 5.1.xxxx version for your Mac.

I found issues with OS X Mavericks installed then updating Win7 to Win10. I had to reinstall the Bootcamp drivers (5.1.5621) for my late-2012 13" MBP Retina. Then, I installed the Bootcamp 6 drivers from the Apple Software Update. This caused a PageFault. So, I restored a Winclone image of Win7 to my Bootcamp partition, upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, reran the Win10 upgrade and finally installed the Bootcamp 6 drivers. Everything is working fine. The version 6 drivers are suppose to work with Yosemite.

So, if you want to stay on OS X Mavericks and use Windows 10; then stay on the 5.1.xxxx Bootcamp drivers for Windows. There's a Table Key at this link that gives the versions of Bootcamp drivers for 32bit and 64bit Windows installs for various Mac Models.

I have this exact same issue. Took forever to actually get windows 10 installed. Then this little gem happened. Please update this thread if you figure it out.
