How is the drive connected and formatted? You want read/write for everyone. Set read/write for everyone for the whole drive and all its content.
Hi Tom, thanks for replying.
The external drive is connected through usb3.0 port and it is OS Extended (Journaled).
I changed "everyone" to read and write but still couldn't.
I directly copied the FCPX events and projects from the old mac to my external drive. I also did the same thing with Aperture library. I occurred the same problem in Aperture on my new mac. I was able to repair permission(by holding down option and command while opening it) since Aperture has this function, but it seems like FCPX has no such function.
Btw, the external hard drive also works as backup drive for both of my old and new mac.
Yes, it is a time machine drive. So I can't use it as FCP library?
I only changed the permission of the library. Do I do that on my old mac? because when I was trying on my new mac it pop up error code - 8076.
I wasn't using the FCP library inside the backup files. I copy and paste the whole thing right on to the drive which has nothing to do with the backup files.
The same method works for Aperture library. Why can't FCP? Or is it just different?
IT different because medua doesn't have to be inside the library and can be shared with multiple libraries using hard links.
