Q: how to resolve "too many redirects" in Safari - this is the message when trying to access gmail

When trying to log onto Gmail safari message is "too many redirects". Tried clearing all history and bookmarks - restarting etc. appreciate any assistance to resolve.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Remove Gmail related cookie.
