Aug 19, 2015 10:43 AM in response to Sandpiper1809by LarryHN,Will the book preview correctly?
Preview a print project in Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture to avoid issues - Apple Support
If it does and you are still having problems backup your iPhoto library and launch iPhoto while holding down the option and command keys - repair permissions and then rebuild your database

Aug 19, 2015 12:17 PM in response to LarryHNby Sandpiper1809,I previewed the album which is fine.
I have dragged the iPhoto icon onto my external hard drive symbol and it has now gone from the bottom bar and I now can't find a way of reinstalling it. If I click on iPhoto in the applications drop down list, it states that iPhoto cannot load as it is in time machine. If I go into time machine, I am not given the option to restore anything. (I.e the restore function is not lit up)
This is really concerning me as I have over 7500 photos and I am worried I have now lost them

Aug 19, 2015 12:29 PM in response to Sandpiper1809by Sandpiper1809,Ok, I have managed to do what you suggested and repair permissions and iPhoto has loaded ok. However, I have just tried to buy the iPhoto book and exactly the same thing is happening. Although this time, just as it finished assembling the book, it moved to stage 2 'Uploading to store' and the progress bar for this stage began blue as if it was going to load and then the blue went and it remained white with no movement which was exactly as it has been doing.
Any ideas what to try now?

Aug 20, 2015 11:50 AM in response to Sandpiper1809by Old Toad,Give the following a try:
Go to the System/Sharing preference pane and make sure Remote Apple Events is checked.
If it is checked, uncheck it and then recheck it, reboot and try ordering again.
If this fails it might be on the server end.

Sep 6, 2015 9:54 AM in response to mandm2014by Old Toad,Two users have talked to senior Support personnel and were told that one must upgrade to Yosemite and either use iPhoto 9.6.1 or the new Photos to upload the the finished book:
Re: greeting card will not upload; it assembles but no upload
Re: iPhoto book not uploading to the store. Quits after assembling
So we're left with either upgrading to Yosemite, getting iPhoto 9.6.1 and ordering or keep trying with what we have and hope it goes thru or Apple fixes the problem. Some users reported success after repeated attempts over time.
There's a 3rd party solution, PrestoPhoto, that advertises that it can print books, both soft and hard bound, from iPhoto and Photos PDF files.
