Internet Problem

I have a Macbook Pro early 2011 on OS Yosemite and for awhile now it's been having internet connection problems. It would randomly lose connection for a couple seconds and reconnect after 5-10 seconds of disconnecting. I just got a brand new router as I just switched internet providers and I am just wondering how to fix this problem, thanks.

Did it happen with the old router?

Old internet provider?

When yo say lose connection do you mean that it disconnect form the network? Or that it remained connected but no interent connectivity?

Do other devices have that problem with your network?

Does your Mac have this problem when connected to other networks?

As test have you tried moving the Mac closer and in line-of-sight of the router?

Depress and hold the Option key and then click on the wifi icon in the Menu bar in upper left. Post screenshot of the windows that opens. That provides details about the connected network. You may have a problem with interference from other devices especially if you are on a 2/4 GHz band

How to take a screenshot on your Mac
