Q: Using Boot Camp Problems!

Hello, I wanted to install Windows 8.1 on my MacBook Air (Early 2015) and used boot camp to create windows install on my USB, I couldn't download the windows support software so I downloaded one of the versions off apple website.. once I installed Windows 8.1.. there was no drivers so I opened the usb and tried to install the windows support software in the folder called setup.exe but it said its not meant for this computer and I tried other versions of the windows support software too.

I managed to install few drivers like wifi and stuff from the folders but other than that nothing else works... no sound.. screen brightness is weird and keeps getting brighter and darker every now and then..

What should I do!?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

    I like this part

Plugin in the USB drive and Restart your Mac in safe mode.

From Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support ...

    What is safe mode?

Safe mode (sometimes called safe boot) is a way to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, and prevents some software from automatically loading or opening. Starting your Mac in safe mode does the following:

    • Verifies your startup disk, and attempts to repair directory issues if needed

This repairs your disk (same as Disk Utility Repair Disk) which allows the disk operations to proceed.

    There is a copy saved in /Library/Applications\ Support/Bootcamp/WindowsSupport.dmg .
