Q: How do I change the name of my iMAC?

I recently began a new job where the iMac in my office was set up incorrectly.  I need to change the name of the computer and erase the former admin's user account.  While I have all of that persons passwords I need to make sure that I am not wrecking the computer.

    Firstly, create a new admin user account for yourself. Then restart the computer and log into your new account. You can then safely delete the former user's account. When you delete the account use the option to delete it immediately without using secure erase.

     

    The computer's name is configured in the Sharing preference panel.
