iPad NOT lost, how do I restore if it's been erased?

My son just reported our iPad as lost when it wasn't and I've received an email to say it's been erased. How can I undo that?

You can't undo the erasure directly but you can recover the iPad and restore it from your most recent backup. That presumes you backup your iPad to iTunes on your computer or to iCloud.

If you set the iPad up again using the same Apple ID as before you can redownload all of your apps from the app store or recover them iTunes on the computer your previously synced the iPad to. Same for your music. Data, photos etc. can be recovered from your backups.
