Q: Authorising a computer

I recently upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 (on the same PC).

When I connect my iPad and seek to sync with iTunes it all works ok.

However, in the process I was advised by a message that "this computer is no longer authorised for iTunes" or something to that effect.

I was then prompted to authorise, which I did.

However I am now advised that I have 2 computers authorised for my Apple ID.

Not a problem until I reach 5.

But the issue is that its not really 2 computers at all, just a change in the version of Windows.

What happens when I reach 5?

iPad Air, iOS 8.4.1

    Hi bwg01,

I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with iTunes on your Windows computer. For more information on the iTunes authorization process, especially your options for deauthorization, you may find the following article helpful. In particular, this section would appear to be relevant to your situation:

    Windows users

If you didn’t deauthorize your computer before you re-installed Windows or upgraded your RAM, hard disk, or other system components, your computer might be using multiple authorizations. Try to deauthorize your computer a few times until it’s no longer authorized, then authorize your computer again. After you do this, it will use only one authorization.
