I've not received a software update for maonths. I used to get them all the time. I've only had one for iTunes that I don't need and haven't downloaded. Now Google Drive is refusing me access because my Safari is out of date. But I can't get an update to a newer version. What do I need to do? I don't have access to the original install discs.
Apple has not provided any updates for v10.6 Snow Leopard for several years and will not do so in the future. It's an outdated OS X.

That would update iTunes and Safari at the same time to the latest versions available.
Strange. I was getting updates automatically until a few months ago. Don't forget, I'm looking for an update to Safari, not the OS itself. My machine won't run Yosemite, and anyway I don't like it, having experienced it on my partner's machine.
Thanks, Eric. I switched from Firefox to Safari because I was getting kernel panics on Firefox, which I'm not on Safari. Are you saying Apple is no longer providing updates to Safari on 10.6?

Correct. You can only update Safari by upgrading to a later version of OS X.
Thanks. My computer won't run Yosemite. It's an original MacBook Pro from late 2006 (according to Apple Tech Specs), and it needs to be 2007. Where can I get an earlier version of OSX than Yosemite to download?

I am running Opera (Chrome based) instead of Safari (with Snow Leopard)
Apple is taking its software in a direction I don't care to follow -- purchased my PRO for restoring Photographs - not for game playing.

Thanks. I'll look into this. My kernel panics are probably a hardware issue which Firefox is triggering by using the graphics card. So far it seems Safari does not do this. But maybe Opera won't either.
