How can I download apps without verifying the payment method? The problem is that the AppStore is not allowing me to download free apps also. It is asking me for some payment verification. Pls help

What exactly happens when you try to download something ? If you currently have a card on your account and it's no longer accepted by iTunes then try logging into your account (not when trying to download something) and see if you get the 'none' option so that you can remove it (if you have a card on your account it has to be valid and accepted by iTunes, even if only downloading free items and updates to apps) : Change or remove your Apple ID payment information in the iTunes Store - Apple Support

When are you looking for the 'none' option ? If when trying to download something you won't get the 'none' option, nor if you are a family organiser in family sharing.

Or is this the first time that you've tried to download something, and you didn't use these instructions when creating the account : Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method - Apple Support ?

When are you looking for 'none' ? If you currently have a card on your account you won't get the 'none' option when trying to download something, you will only potentially get it if you just log into the account e.g. via the Account > View My Account menu option on iTunes, or by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on an iOS device - if you aren't getting the 'none' option when doing that, then do any of these scenarios apply : Why can’t I select None when I edit my Apple ID payment information? - Apple Support ?

Plus why is it required for updating free apps!?

It's not requiring it specifically for the updates, but when you have a card on an account it has to be valid and pass the iTunes validation, whatever you are downloading.

How is it possible!? It was approved few weeks ago and I purchased some things with it.

Validation rules can change, what is/isn't accepted can change. And it might not be iTunes that's declining it, it might be the card issuer.

You could either try a different card, or try just logging into the account (not when trying to download something) and see if you get the 'none' option so that you can remove the card (that should let you download app updates) : Change or remove your Apple ID payment information - Apple Support

Omg! So true. I need that none button. Since my phone broke. I had it repaired. It's an iPhone 5. So, everything is fine and stuff... But when I go to the AppStore to get an app (it's free) it says continue for verification billing info. I don't have the none button. This has been happening before. It is so annoying. So I reset my phone. I go back to AppStore and it shows up AGAIN!!!!!!! What happens if I change my Icloud email and password? Will it let me have it? Because yesterday I finished changing it but when I was so close to being done, there were letters and numbers I had to type in. I even put them in caps. Or the first letter in caps. Or not at all. What are you trying to use as your payment method, credit card, debit card ... ? Prepaid cards are unlikely to work, and not all debit cards work. Do you have a different card to try ?

For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you are (and therefore the country which is on your iTunes account).

Well I had the "None" option all this while. Lately I used a prepaid card and it did work but when the balance was over I was not able to make any purchases , I was asked to update my payment info. I updated via another prepaid are, but this time it was declined and now I don't even see the 'None' option. How do I get the 'None' option back.

This happens over and over your payment method is declined please inter another payment method

If you mean that if you add payment details to your account you will receive a temporary store holding charge ($1 or approximate local equivalent) to check that the card details are correct and valid - your card issuer should automatically remove that 'charge' within a few days or so

If it shows on your iTunes account's purchase history but you didn't buy it, and nobody else has access to your account and/or devices/computers and did it, then change your account's password (What to do after you change your Apple ID email address or password - Apple Support) and contact iTunes Support : https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
