Q: Auto-Locate Additional Missing Files Option GONE?
I have a large personal library--too big to fit on a single HD, so allowing iTunes to use a single auto-organized library folder won't work. As my library grows, at times I need to move files to different drives to restructure storage. This, of course, results in many files becoming 'missing' and having the '!' next to them. In previous iTunes versions, when manually relocating a missing file, it would ask if you wanted iTunes to search the same folder for other files that are missing in your library, which is awesome. The newest iTunes version (12.2.2.25) does not ask this. Because of this, I'm facing the prospect of manually clicking on THOUSANDS of missing items in my iTunes library and locating them myself, even though most folders have hundreds of my missing files.
The only thing I can think to do now is to drag the files into my iTunes, which adds a second copy, and I lose all ratings, play count, playlist spots, original add date, etc. for files I've had in my library for nearly 10 years.
Something that would have taken 10 clicks to remedy in previous iTunes versions will now literally take tens of thousands of clicks instead. Please add the auto-find option back in!
