Q: iPad Mini disabled in airplane mode - help please

My son has disabled his iPad in Airplane mode....

I can't swipe the screen from bottom to turn Airplane Mode off...

I have put the iPad into restore mode and got as far as iTunes downloading the software to restore, however, that is as far as I get and my computer times out after the 15 minutes and the iPad goes back to the disabled screen.

My OS is updated, and iTunes is running on the latest software,,,

If you get an error message, find out how to fix most update and restore errors.
Get help activating your iOS device if you don't have cellular service after you restore.
If your iOS device restarts repeatedly or isn’t responding (you might see a stopped progress bar or no progress bar), put the device into recovery mode and restore it again.
