Q: Good for Enterprise App on BYOD(bring your own device)
My new company is not providing me a work cell phone - they are wanting me to use my personal cell phone and use the "Good for Enterprise" app to access company emails, calendars, contacts, etc. in secure environment that they can control. Their corporate policy also allows them to monitor electronic communications through their network/apps. They provide an small monthly phone allowance - but not enough for me to add a second business only phone to my account and cover the costs.
I'm uncomfortable with it as I feel it's being forced on me - and I don't want to use my personal phone for work. I prefer to have separate devices for work/personal. I am not familiar with what their administrative capabilities will be on my device as well as what they can and can't do through the application. I have read they could remotely wipe my device through the app - but I believe that's because you have to accept a configuration file prior to installing app on phone.
Can anyone shed some light on what the company IT admins can and can't do with this enterprise application? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
