Q: USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter

Will this adapter make it possible to back up on an external hard drive (USB required) while the Macbook is connected to a power source (USB-C)? There is only one outlet on the laptop and the adapter I currently use has just a USB port on it.

The VGA Multiport adapter has 3 ports. a USB-C port for charging, a VGA adapter for display output, and a standard USB port for things like an external hard drive.

It will work to charge and use a standard USB device at the same time, as well as an external VGA display.

Yes I works that way - that is how I am backing up to a LaCie drive
