Gmail app is blank when launched
MY gmail icon is not working - I get a blank screen when I launch gmaik

Hold the sleep/wake and home button until the Apple logo appears. If needed, delete and then reinstall the Gmail app. -AJ

Thank you, I pressed and held down the sleep and wake button (I assume I have correctly done this) and the apple logo appeared ... But how do I delete the gmail app? The apple logo appears and then the iPad simply returns to normal, I am trying to delete the app, please help if you can - this issue is driving me potty!
keep your finger on the gmail apps and click on the cross on the left top
you can set up gmail account without download gmail apps
go to setting general mail and add account

aah i think I have been referring to the app as the gmail app - it is actually the apple mail app which I use to pick up my emails (gmail), the problem I have is whenever I launch the mail app I get a blank screen - therefore I cannot pick up my emails on my gmail account from my iPad, please help
In that case delete the account and re add it.
Settings> mail, contacts, calendar>Click on the gmail account> delete account. Then go to settings> mail, contacts, calendar> add account to set up the account again. -AJ
