iPad, Apple TV issue

I can’t get my iPad to recognize Apple TV via Air Play. When I get the Airplay small window I have an option of selecting “Apple TV” It doesn’t work. Prior when It was working the option read, “Apple TV (2)”. How do I can I get the (2) version displayed. Or change it to get it working again. Thanks for your help. Best Wishes, G.
