AFP sharing - username and password

Hi, I am new to Mac and Apple products.

I tried to use the AFP file sharing for the first time and it is already confusing.

I did..

1. Set the shared folder in sharing under preferences

2. Hopped into my secondary Mac

3. Go > Connect to server and typed in afp:// the IP address of the machine sharing the file

4. I get prompted to enter the "name" and "password" which is for my Mac's (sharing the file) admin username and password

so is there a way NOT to enter the pw and username of the machine that is sharing the file?
