Network Printer Troubleshooting
Ping printer: If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.
Thank you Eric for your response. Tell me where will I find the Printer IP address. Thanks

You are welcome. Normally the IP address can be found through the control panel of the printer or by accessing your router's setup page.
THank you Eric, I'll give it a go.. Where will I find the Printers control Panel ? Router's set up page, would this be in the System preferences > network ? You can see I have a lot to learn <smile> Best Wishes, Always G. Boyce Bazzell (Bazz)
You are welcome. The printer's control panel is on the printer where you set up various options. For the router, go to System/Preferences/Network, select how you are connecting to the Internet, Wi-Fi foe example, and you should see an IP address. such as 192.168.1.X. Type that address into a browser, replacing the X with a one, for example 192.168.1.1.
If it wants a user name and password, try admin admin and the reset a stronger password.
