Can't Open Adobe Digital Editions

I just purchased an eBook through Google. I then went to the Apple App Store and downloaded Adobe Digital Editions so I can download my book.

When I open iTunes and click on Apps, I see the icon for Adobe Digital Editions, but nothing happens when I double click it. In fact, almost all the icons are dead. When I click on some of the books I purchased from the App store in the past I get a message that the original file can't be found. There are some other icons that say "Update," but nothing happens when I click them.

All the Apps that you see in iTunes are iOS apps. They run only on iPhone, iPad, iPod. They do not run on Macs, which does not use IOS.

Apps that you purchased from the Apple App Store do run on Macs. But they are not in iTunes. Instead, they are in your Applications folder. Use Finder to go to the Applications folder and run the Adobe app from there.

Thanks. I don't see Adobe Digital Editions in my Applications folder. I do see an App Store icon. I clicked it and tried to download Adobe Digital Editions again, but it isn't listed. I wonder if it's something that can only be obtained through iTunes?
