ipod 4th gen won't download Apps

IOS is current 6.1.6 This Ipod is set up on a family Share and Parental Consent is enabled. When we download an App one of 2 things happens:

1. When I click install on the App and enter password it switches to installing and then bumps back to Get. Nothing happens

2. click install, enter password, receive notice that notification is sent for parental consent. Notification received on phone and approved and then nothing happens on ipod--no download.

- Only devices with iOS 8 fully support Family Sharing. I suspect that you are tying to install the latest version of the app(s) and those are not compatible with IOS 6.1.6.

- If you get someone else to "purchase" the app like downoding on a computer then using this method might work

Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club

App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Or maybe a version compatible with 6.1.6 is not available.
