Q: My MasterCard Debit card is being declined??

I've been using the same card, with the same info, for two years. It expires next year, and there's plenty of money in the balance. None of my info has changed recently, and it's just suddenly been declining my card. Help, I need apps for school and it won't let me download even the free ones without a payment method!!!

Go to iTunes > store > sign in > view account > edit payment > and that should show you the currently available cards that are accepted.   Irrespective of previous purchasing.   Debit cards are no longer acceptable in many countries.   If you still find your card qualifies, talk to the card issuer.

iTunes Store has become more and more vague about acceptable forms of payment. The terms page used to say,

"The iTunes Store, Mac App Store, App Store, and iBookstore services (“Services”) accept these forms of payment: credit cards issued by U.S. banks, payments through your PayPal account, iTunes Cards, iTunes Store Gift Certificates, Content Codes, and Allowance Account balances." [old document no longer online]  <-- no mention of debit cards.  Now it just says, a "VALID PAYMENT METHOD FOR PAYMENT OF ALL FEES" (uppercase 'shouting' their way, not mine).  I guess one has to just keep on experimenting until one finds a form that is "valid".
