What does the iCloud icon next to some songs and in the name bar of several playlists mean?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
Hello RAM7,
Is the iCloud icon you are asking about shown in this article?
iTunes 11 for Mac: Symbols used in iTunes
All the best.
Thanks for your reply.
NO. The cloud icon I am referring to does not have a dotted outline nor does it have any other symbols within it.
It's just a plain solid cloud.
I hope you can help further. I am afraid of inadvertently getting involved with "Match" and loosing my music rights.
Hi RAM7,
As I can't find or tell what icon you are seeing you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources - https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action
Take care.

Thanks for your continuing to follow up. To clarify, the icon I am referring to looks exactly like the cloud with a "dotted" outline except that the outline is solid.
I finally contacted Apple support and learned that it has no significant meaning. It alludes to the song or playlist being either found in the cloud or could be stored in the cloud. I'm still clueless but at least I know that it will not suck my music unto iTunes Match. My biggest fear. I think we can move on to something else. Thanks again.
