I can't see 3rd party keyboard in Messages app

I downloaded a 3rd party keyboard yesterday, and installed it on my iPhone. I can access the keyboard when sending email, but it doesn't show up in my Messages app. Does anyone have an idea for why this is, and how I can fix it?
