Oct 22, 2015 9:46 PM in response to Uwe Grunewaldby Andreas HH,Hi,
it was shown in the releasenote of iCloud 5.0 in the apple software updater:
Outlook 2016 is not supported.

Oct 22, 2015 10:07 PM in response to Uwe Grunewaldby KrylonToo,@Andreas HH was spot on with his comment on the release notes. The support page for iCloud also only states Outlook 2007-2013 are supported.
I ran across a post online where it is mentioned that an uninstaller was used to completely remove all remnants of iCloud and Office from a machine and then a reinstall in a particular order worked. I cant vouch for this method but some of you that have done the re-install dance might want to give it a read.

For God's sake why not! It beggers belief that Apple are ignorant of the problem, or have chosen not to do anything about it (yet?).
I appreciate that MS Office / Outlook 2016 is but a few months old, and not everyone has upgraded to it. But why release an update for iCloud (v5) and not include support for Outlook 2016 and correct the ongoing problem.
A majority of homes, and especially workplaces run a windows based system and (as with the company i work for) are starting to roll out Outlook 2016 to its workforce. This means its now a complete pain when we try to sync (and cannot update) our callenders and contacts to our iPhones / iPads.
Apple, PLEASE lets have some investigation / solution (and official comment) to the current icloud / outlook 2016 problem.

Oct 23, 2015 5:17 AM in response to Besomdaveby multiplax,Guys,
I'm out. This is the icing on the cake. iCloud version 5.0 does not support Outlook 2016. Frickin' unbelievable. Since I came across this information I uninstalled iCloud, iTunes and all other Apple-related software on my Windows 10 computer. In the meantime I switched to Google and Outlook 365. It was pretty easy!
I'm done with Apple. In some strange way it was a relief... :-)
All the best.

Oct 23, 2015 1:48 PM in response to multiplaxby aasinfo,Quite strange situation... :-o
I have 3 computers:- DELL notebook with Windows 10 - Office 2016 - iCloud 4.1 and working perfectly
- DELL desktop with Windows 8.1 - Office 2016 - iCloud 4.1 and the sync is working well also- DELL desktop with Windows 10 - Office 2016 - iCloud 4.1 and the sync doesn't work
I reinstalled the last computer today, changed from Windows 8.1 to 10 with totally fresh install.
The history:
Windows 8.1 - Office 2013 - iCloud 4.1 was perfect (of course)
Windows 8.1 - Office 2016 - iCloud 4.1 doesn't work
Windows 10 - Office 2016 - iCloud 5.0 (I haven't noticed the version change at all :-) ) doesn't work
Tried to step back to iCloud 4.1 but the symptom is the same: iCloud always wants to repair itself...
So I have two working solution for Outlook 2016 and one unsyncable version.
Quite funny :-(

Oct 25, 2015 7:16 AM in response to Tcburns62by AcqmanNH,No excuses for Apple, but for those who are willing to roll back to Office 2013, without updates, Tcburns62 suggestion solved the problem for me - thanks!
I am running Windows 8.1 with an Office 365 Home subscription. I uninstalled iCloud and Office 365. Then on my Office 365 Home page, I clicked "Install". From the next screen, I clicked "Language and install options". From the next, "Additional install options". From the next, in the "Version" scroll box, I chose "Office 2013 (32 bit)". Then I clicked "Install" and let it do its thing. As soon as I could, I opened one of the office programs, clicked "File", then "Office Account" (or "Account", depends on which program you open). On the next screen, I went to Update Options and disabled Office Updates. I'm not if sure this is necessary, but I didn't want MS upgrading me to 2016 automatically.
After the restarts, etc, I opened Outlook and configured my mail accounts including iCloud. Then I installed iCloud 5.0. Initially the iCloud Control Panel didn't give me the Outlook "Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks" options, but the second time that I opened it, I was able to check that box, and on applying the changes, there were my iCloud Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks, back in Outlook, where I really, really, want them.
This forum was very helpful to me. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, and what not to bother to try! Hopefully Apple will update iCloud sooner than later. Like others, I was very disappointed that 5.0 didn't solve the problem.

Oct 25, 2015 8:56 AM in response to multiplaxby Uwe Grunewald,@multiplaxI just tried to setup my Gmail in Outlook 2016, but what ever I do, Google warns me that my attempt to access my Gmail was made from an insecure client and was denied.
Could you please share to this suffering community, how you managed to setup Google Calendar and Contacts in Outlook 2016?
As far as I can see syncing tasks also would require an additional tool like gSyncit.

Oct 25, 2015 9:29 AM in response to AcqmanNHby mbrauer4,So I just got a new laptop a few weeks ago and was forced to buy Office 2016 by Dell as they were no longer able to sell Office 2013. I just logged in to My Locker which is the digital download site for Dell...that sent me to Microsoft where I logged in. I do not see an option to "roll back" to Office 2013. Any thoughts?
-
Oct 25, 2015 1:05 PM in response to mbrauer4by WonkieInc,This is because you purchased a single version of Office, not the subscription based Office365.
-
Oct 25, 2015 4:30 PM in response to mbrauer4by Tcburns62,when you are logged in at Microsoft, don't click on install, go to install options under it and on the next page go to more install options. there you should have a drop down of what version you want, Select 2013 (32bit) even though your system is a 64bit. The 64bit Office 365 will not work with Icloud.

Oct 25, 2015 4:41 PM in response to Tcburns62by richarc123,At the Apple event in September they invited Microsoft on stage to help demo the new IPad. I suppose this debacle indicates that there is no real collaboration between the two companies to 'help users'. Based on what we have seen, you think a phone call was made between them to determine how to correct this problem? I say no.

Oct 25, 2015 7:07 PM in response to richarc123by IluvmyiPAD,Add my name to the list. Windows 10 and Outlook 2016 will not sync with iCLOUD. Keeps on wanting to do a repair. Come one Apple ... this is getting very old.

Oct 25, 2015 7:26 PM in response to IluvmyiPADby Too2ManyIDs,Sync was fine on my laptop with Win10 (64-bit) with Office2013.
I just setup another laptop (new Win10 64-bit upgrade) with Office2016 and tried iCloud for Windows v5. Same issue others are reporting, faulty request to repair the software and unable to sync with Outlook.
