Q: Is iCloud compatible with Outlook 2016?

I've installed Windows 10 and Office 2016. I also installed iCloud and every time I try to access it and synch with my Outlook 2016, a window pops up and says top Repair iCloud installation, then Restart. I've done this twice but still no go.

Is Outlook 2016 too new??? Or is it Windows 10???

Thank you very much. I figured it out, but I just wanted to be sure there was not another way to do it. Have a nice day!

    Any news to this?

It´s ridicoulus that I have to downgrade my Outlook 2016 to Outlook 2013 to get the "new" icloud 5 to work.

Nothing new.  I was able to get my Windows 10 / Outlook 2016 machine to sync contacts and calendars from Outlook to the phone by using http://sourceforge.net/projects/googlesyncmod/ .  Its free.

    1. Install Outlook 2010 or 2007

    2. Install iCloud and set up the sync and let it all sync through.

    Restart

    3. Uninstall Outlook 2010.

    4. Sign out of iCloud.

    Restart

    5. Install Outlook 2016

    6. Sign into iCloud and let it Sync

    Restart

So, you are stating that you have done this, and have Outlook 2016 and ICloud working together?  How did you determine that this was a viable solution?  On your own, or did you receive direction from a technician or posting somewhere?

    Thanks in advance.

I just figured it out.  I was running 2010 on the machine when i went from 2013 then later 2016.  It was only at this new update to Windows 10 1153 that seemed to wipe my machine clean that icloud and 2016 stopped working.  Outlook was looking for a file which I assumed was created from icloud on 2010.  I guess my suspicion is correct because it's working.  I hope Apple doesn't block this hack!  As a non-science, non-computer person I'm pretty **** proud of myself.

Problem is most of us got rid of Office 2010 in 2013..  I'll just continue to use 2013 until it's fixed.  Nothing that different in 2016 that I can't do without until then..

Ouch.  For us it defeats the purpose of a clean install of Windows 10 and a clean install of Office 2016.

Thank you for the diligent documentation.  I just discovered I can get a Chrome sync of bookmarks and email myself any epubs or pdf's I need while Apple decides whether to service their software or not.  Which effectively says I don't need iTunes or to buy anything from them...

Hard to imagine this business decision of theirs.

    Hi Everone In Pain,

Same problem for me. As a temprary solution I'm using http://www.companionlink.com/iphone/outlook. For now it's surprisingly reliable, even the outlook categories are being synchronised. I use it to sync contacts, tasks and calendar. I'm using their proprietary DejaCloud service, but you can also use Google as a go-between, or just sync via wi-fi. The only drawback I see at the moment is that you need to launch their iOS app to sync the data with the cloud. After you do it, the data are also synced with iCloud so you should have it available in all you Apple devices. The $49.95 or $14.95/3-m, but you can test if free for 14 days.

    This is ridiculous!

It's 2015 and they are not able to do a basic synchronization?

This is the most important feature in my work environment.

My next phone will be a Windows Phone!

My notebook was the same situation before:

Clear Windows 10 install with Office 2013 and iCloud 4.1 - the syncronisation worked well :-)

I upgraded about 2 months ago to Office 2016 and the sync worked till yesterday.
Since then the problem came up the icloud calendar doesn't work anymore in Outlook calendar pane :-(

I don't know, what was the exact thing when the problem comes up - maybe the Windows 10 large update some days ago ?

Until yesterday I had no problem with Outlook 2016 and iCloud 5.

But now I updated my notebook anddesktop PC with Windows 10 1511.

Now I have also the problem, no sync of the calendar and contacts.

    Please do something, Apple!!!!!

Hi, please see my post above.  The best bet is to load Outlook 2010 to create the files icloud needs.  Windows 10 1511 has ruined my great machine.

I noticed the same thing.  iCloud worked fine with Outlook 2016 until the most recent Windows 10 update.  Then, it stopped working. I will certainly migrate away from the Apple environment for phone and tablet unless this is fixed soon.

Actually my Outlook 2013 stopped working on my laptop and desktop computers with the latest Windows 10 update so I uninstalled Outlook 2013 and installed Outlook 2016 and now 2016 works just fine.
