Q: Is iCloud compatible with Outlook 2016?

However, we had Windows 10 + Outlook 16 + iCloud working perfectly until the latest Apple upgrade (5.0.2.61) was implemented. Apple knew about this and stated clearly that iCloud "not compatible to Outlook 16" in the new version (which we only found out AFTER updating).
Apple needs make iCloud compatible to Outook 16 - simple as that.

Nov 18, 2015 6:41 AMby RCW600,I am another who has found that the latest Windows 10 update (1511) messed up my system. I had iCloud v4 working with Outlook 2016 and Windows 10 until the 1511 update. I tried the suggestion above to reinstall Outlook 2007 and then replace with Outlook 2016, but it didn't work for me, with iCloud 4 or 5. Immensely frustrating that this still isn't fixed, especially when it must be a pretty simple job.

Nov 18, 2015 10:16 AMby Uwe Grunewald,May be logoff / Logon iCloud for Windows can help. I also like to confirm, that Installing Outlook 2010 and than iCloud etc. gets it to work - strangely.
However, for those with an Office 365 subscription it might be interesting to know, that you can configure a full flagged Exchange account using your Microsoft ID and Password to logon and
s.outlook.com
as Exchange server. This allows to sync at least Calendar/Contacts/Task nicely, since iOS devices support Exchange. This is what I finally did. You may even have your Outlook.com account deliver your normal Emails to it so you do have everything in one exchange account.
No more Apple software on the PC but keeping Apple mobile Devices;-)

Nov 18, 2015 10:24 AMby bstohrer,Thanks Uwe! I have 365 and exchange and it looks like what you describe is working for me. I just need to move all my contacts, calendar and tasks from iCloud to Outlook. A pain but a real fix.
I feel bad for the non 365 users and hope Apple solvers the issue.
As Uwe said, no more apple software on my PC. I am still going to look at the Surface products and maybe the Win phone when its time.

Thanks Uwe. But it seems for those of us with Office 2016 installed on a Windows 10 PC getting an Exchange account (EAS) to run properly is pretty hard. I can get the email account access for outlook.com on the pc but getting it to reliably and continually sync the calendar and contacts has eluded me. No problems form their server to the phone though. -
Nov 18, 2015 2:40 PMby paulfromindio,A very tech savvy organization explained it to me this way : Outlook 2016 currently doesn't support the "CalDAV" or "CardDAV" internet standards. This means that it's not possible to synchronize your iCloud Calendar or contacts with Outlook 2016. At this time there isn't any official statement or ETA on when this may be implemented to allow this functionality. With Office 2016 coming out in late September however it seems likely that given time Microsoft will address this. "

However, I was tempted by recent posts and googled for alternate solution to keep iCloud and Outlook contacts, tasks and calendar appointments in sync. The search resulted in keeping the iCloud folders (tasks, contacts and calendar) in Outlook and native Outlook folders in sync. While this is a desired outcome, the immediate problem at hand - getting iCloud 5 installed and configured on Windows 10 to sync with Outlook 2016 - is not resolved.
Long story short, one of the pages provided link to the Apple site (Download iCloud for Windows - Apple Support) to download iCloud installer. What do I see at the bottom of the page???
Sorry if this is an old story to many, but to me it was encouraging............
iCloud for Windows currently supports Outlook 2007 through Outlook 2013. Support for Outlook 2016 will be available in an updated release soon. If you use Outlook 2016, you can access iCloud Mail, Contacts, and Calendars on iCloud.com.

The last update was on OCT 26, when they gave the cool advise, that Outlook 2016 users can use iCloud in the Browser.
Now they updated the page to add, that they are not guilty. What a senior response. Of course Apple cannot be held responsible for new Microsoft office releases, but a company who would have the power to pay all of Greek debts from their pocket should be able to employ one or two people to align with Microsoft and eventually a developer, who fixes the issue.
Apple you are a shame! Don't you see how that harms your brand? Even if we are yet a few thousands right now. No whatsoever glory brand should treat a single customer that way :-(

I had previously 2013, in the midst of upgrading to 365 my icloud suddenly 'saw' outlook and asked me to connect and sync. I did this no problem now it all syncs. Also noted that within outlook the icloud add in is there and constantly active.
The next issue I have is that my wife's outlook refuses point blank to see icloud and vice versa, no matter how i try to replicate my personal procedure to get it syncing. In her outlook i can't even see the icloud add in. Is there not a way to add that to outlook manually?
