Music/Artwork not syncing after iOS 8.4 update

Hey guys,

After I updated my 5th gen iPod touch to 8.4 I've been having issues syncing my iPod to my Mac. New music doesn't sync and artwork for all songs not purchased through iTunes is missing. The only way I've been able to fix this is to restore my iPod to factory settings and then restore it from a backup. The iPod then syncs, complete with new music and all artwork.

The issue is that every 3-5 times I sync my iPod, usually when I've added new songs to my iTunes library, I'm faced with the same issue again. Whilst restoring my iPod works every time, it's obviously not a great solution and is very time consuming. This issue is also present after updating to iOS 8.4.1 whilst using iTunes 12.2.2 under OS X 10.10.5.

Can anybody help me with this?
