Q: Netgear WG111v2 or D-Link DWL-122 on Yosemite

Hi All,

Due to my airport playing up and proving to be unreliable, before i go get my mac repaired/reviewed i am attempting to get either of the two dongles above working (Netgear WG111v2 or D-Link DWL-122) on Yosemite, if anyone knows how to get either working it would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers,

Andrew

I don't have those devices, but the general process will be:

    1) with the dongle plugged-in, go to Network Prefs and click on the + (bottom left). The dongle should be available to add to the list.

    2) Click on the gear near the +, then Set Service Order and put the new device at the top.

    3) Set up network access and try it.

I have the Netgear WG111v2, I believe it is 32 bit system only. I had it working on Snow Leopard I reckon, and had to edit config files manually to get it working in 10.7 Lion if memory serves me. I never got it to work in 10.8. Maybe the settings program was PPC only. Anyway I don't think the Netgear will work with Yosemite. No clue about the D-link but it seems too old.
