fullscreen youtube issues

I have a 2015 macbook pro 15in retina, and whenever I go fullscreen on a youtube video, it shows a white screen with a black box. If I move my mouse it plays the video normally, but as soon as I stop, it shows a white screen with a black box in the upper left corner again.

Also some webpages I visit, every time I click on an icon, the screen will flash black.

I've found a couple people online with the same youtube issue, but no one seems to have an answer yet.

Any ideas?

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.

Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings

Assuming you are using Safari to view YouTube video, empty the Safari cache.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.

Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar

Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.

Quit then relaunch Safari then try a video.

If that didn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions and third part plug-ins.

From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.

Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
