Q: what is repair id or serial number

From the drop down menu click: About This Mac then select the Overview tab.
Select Hardware on the left.
On the right you should see: Hardware Overview
The Serial Number is noted there.
If that doesn't help, try here > Find the serial number of your Apple hardware product
Check for warranty coverage > Check Your Service and Support Coverage
