Canon Pixma MX476 not detected

Hi,

I've spent hours trying to figure this out. I've read so many suggestions and watched videos etc to no avail!

The printer, a Canon Pixma MX476 and my Macbook Air were working fine until recently. They are no longer talking to each other. The printer is connected to the network, the same at the macbook. The macbook cannot seem to locate the printer at all! I've tried everything! Downloaded so many new drivers etc but can't do it. Any help (hopefully step by step) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Thank you for your help Eric.

I tired to ping the printer and got this and then just timeout for ages. I've reset the entire machine and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver software. Can't seem to figure it out. I may just throw it out the window at this point!!
