If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.

I tired to ping the printer and got this and then just timeout for ages. I've reset the entire machine and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver software. Can't seem to figure it out. I may just throw it out the window at this point!!
