Can you post the version information from Bootcamp.xml on your USB? If you have W10, BC6 drivers need to be used, which the BC Assistant will download.

If you have a W7/W8 and then you will need to look for drivers from the following links.

Windows 7 - System requirements to install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support

Windows 8 - Use Windows 8.1 on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support

I have Windows 8.1 and now understand that I need BC6 drivers to update to Windows 10. Unfortunately I'm not in the US and as I have read that these drivers will only be available in other countries in due course I guess I'll have to wait until they get here. Nevertheless I'm still trying and am currently using BC Assistant to download the latest Windows support software but it seems that I will only know the version that has been downloaded after the download is complete. Hopefully it will be one that works.

I'm sorry, I don't know how to acquire the version information from Bootcamp.xml on my USB.

Thanks again for your help and now I'm going to give it a rest for the day. Maybe I'll battle on again tomorrow.

Cheers

Find Bootcamp.xml of your USB and open it using TextEdit. Please look for the following lines.

<ProductManufacturer>Apple Inc.</ProductManufacturer>

<ProductVersion>6.0.6133</ProductVersion>

<ProductCode>{FCFFE6B6-BAE8-490E-88D0-097A9DA1C43D}</ProductCode>

You can also get BC 6 drivers after W10 in installed by running Apple Software Update.
